Big Sur Oyster Bar is my favorite restaurant in South Point by far. It is all about fish and of course Oysters. The food is great, as a result, there is usually a line for a table but the counter is open at times. Big Sur Oyster Bar is located in South Point Casino, straight back from the registration desk.
I usually sit at the counter. Because of the open kitchen layout you can watch the cooks as they prepare the orders for all the diners.
What the Shuck!?
If you are in South Point before 4pm, you should stop by Big Sur Oyster Bar for the “What the Shuck!?” deal. I enjoyed the dozen oysters followed by a order of fish tacos. The oysters were great! Probably one of the best deals in town. I watched the cook shuck the oysters right in front of me.
However, my go to meal why visiting Big Sur Oyster Bar is the Cioppino. It is a bowl of the ocean full of flavor. It provide a huge variety to sample from. Cioppino has lobster, shrimp, scallops, clams mussels and calamari. You cant go wrong with this staple.
Undoubtedly, “What the Shuck!?” deal is well worth it. During my visit my bill came to $40 bucks for dozen oysters, couple of fish tacos, and a beer.
